This fan comic based off the characters of Buddies In Big Places. For the purposes of the story, here's a lowdown on what all the current characters:

Ted, Tawny, and Celine all become happily married to each other in a polygamous relationship. Ted stays on in the job he loves as a bus driver, while Tawny finishes college and goes on to achieve international fame and acclaim as a stage actress. Together they have their only son, Tobias, and he's raised in a loving home among the three of them.

Lacey finally achieves all her gold-digging dreams by marrying old and decrepit billionare raccoon, Charles Burkley (think Anna Nicole Smith, here) . She shacks up with him into hilariously disfunctional marital bliss along with her equally messed up friend, Merideth Lalli, an obsessive vixen who is Reynard's long ex-girlfriend turned inept stalker of said hapless squirrel hero. After many humiliating moments with her old and lecherous husband in the name of money, Charles Burkley finally manages to kick off after impregnating both Lacey and Merideth and leaving them his entire fortune. Forever set in the lap of luxury, Lacey gives birth to Pepper, while Meri has Lizzie, and both go about bumbling through their lives as they always did, serving as role models to the girls on what NOT to become.

Having grown up around each other through much of their lives, the three kids are now in high school at the time this story takes place.

Q:When do you update?
A: Coons was never meant to be a regularly updated comic. I do it purely for fun and to give my brain a rest from my regularly updated comics, and I'd like to keep it that way, so it gets updated whenever I can/feel like it.

Q: Is this canon to Buddies In Big Places?
A: That's indeterminate. It's up to Seth C. Triggs, who writes and illustrates Buddies In Big Places, and he's been kind enough to let me borrow his characters and have my way with them. So I guess the official answer is that it's an Alternate Universe thing.

Q: Wait a minute, I recognize Lacey, Ted, and the rest from BIBP, but I don't see any mention of Pepper, Toby, or Lizzie.
A: That's because they haven't been born yet in canon. Seth has planned out BIBP for quite a few years ahead, so yeah, I'm jumping the gun on the canon.

Q: When does this take place?
A: Tobias will be born in 2007, so if he's 19, that means it takes place in 2026.

Q: Why are they all half racoons?
A: Because they all happen to have racoons as parents.

Q: Why is this comic just called "Coons?"
A: Because I couldn't really think of a name for it.

Q: Why is the artwork so crappy compared to your other comics?
A: Gee, thanks. Like I said, I do this for fun, so I'm just drawing as much as I feel like.

Q: This is really...um...different from what you usually do. What's the inspiration?
A: I'm honestly not sure. The story just writes itself, and even I'm surprised at the twists and turns it's taking. I very rarely get such clear ideas on my stories, so it seemed a shame to waste it. Plus, I was looking for something off the wall and artistically challenging.

Q: How come you don't do more yiff?
A: It's not something I want to focus on completely, but I just find it fun to do now and again. You want lots of yiff, go read Buddies In Big Places!

	Tobias "Toby" Papineau Species: Cat/Raccoon Age: 19 Descrip: Tobias is the biological son of Ted and Tawny, and the adopted son of Celine. He idolizes his parents, and despite being the son of a famous actress and growing up fairly wealthy, he's a good kid who always tries to do the right thing, even if life doesn't make doing it very easy. He dated Pepper for just a few weeks before he got sick of her, and even though he doesn't like her very much, he's still attracted to her.
	Pepper Burkley: Species: Rabbit/Raccoon Age: 18 Descrip: Pepper Burkley is the pretty, but obnoxious and spoiled daughter of billionare Lacey Burkley. Like her mother, she thinks the way to any man's heart his through his pants. Unlike her mother, she actually has a brain and is really quite smart, and she uses her intelligence to get whatever she wants, whenever she wants, without getting caught. She enjoys tormenting Toby just for the hell of it.
	Reynarda Elizabeth "Lizzie" Burkley: Species: Fox/Raccoon Age: 18 Descrip: Lizzie Burkley is Pepper's half-sister and daughter of Lacey's friend Merideth. She tags along with Pepper a lot, and is also selfish and spoiled, but less devious than her sister is.
